Questions & Answers
Who are you and what am I agreeing to?
You’re agreeing to a legal contract with WorryTree Ltd, the company that built and owns the Luma app. We're based at Floors 1–3, 4–5 High Town, Hereford, HR1 2AA, in the United Kingdom.
This agreement covers your use of Luma and works alongside our Privacy Policy. If you use the app, you’re agreeing to these terms.
What does Luma actually do?
Luma is a mobile app that helps you manage overthinking and anxiety using simple, practical tools. You can:
Record worries
Reflect on thoughts and feelings
Use calming techniques and journaling prompts
Review what’s helped in the past.
Some features may use AI to gently guide your reflection or help you come up with goals - but it’s not a diagnostic tool or therapy.
Is this a replacement for mental health care?
No. Luma is a support tool - not a substitute for professional help. If you're struggling with your mental health, you should always speak to a qualified professional.
What happens to the information I enter into the app?
It stays private. Everything you enter is:
Encrypted
Stored securely in a third-party database (MongoDB)
Not viewable by anyone else.
How can I use Luma?
You can use the app by creating an account in one of three ways:
With your email and password
Through your Apple account
Through your Google account.
In each case, your information is securely encrypted and stored.
What are the ‘rules’ for using the app?
When you use Luma, you agree to:
Use it only for personal and lawful purposes
Not to copy or resell the app or its content
Not to upload anything harmful, abusive, or illegal
Not to mess with the app’s functionality or security.
You’re also agreeing not to post or store anything that’s:
Discriminatory, offensive or threatening
Fraudulent or misleading
In violation of someone else’s rights.
Do I own the content or software?
You own the information you enter into the app. But Luma (and the code behind it) is owned by WorryTree Ltd. You can use it, but you can’t copy, sell or reverse-engineer it.
We will update the app automatically from time to time to improve how it works.
What about AI? Is it reading my thoughts?
No. AI features in Luma never access your private or encrypted data.
They work only with what you choose to share during specific reflections - and are designed to offer general suggestions or prompts to help you think things through. AI features are optional and informational, not therapeutic.
How does payment work?
You can use Luma for free during the free trial period and then after that you’ll need to subscribe to use the features. Payments are handled by Apple or Google, not by us directly.
If you have an issue with a payment, refund, or cancellation, you’ll need to go through the appropriate app store (but please come to us if you need any assistance).
Prices may vary depending on where you live and include any required taxes.
Can you show me ads?
We do not show ads during the free trial or if you have subscribed to Luma.
Can I cancel or delete my account?
Yes - any time.
Go to your profile within the app and tap on delete, or you can request that we delete your data here.
You can also cancel your subscription via your app store settings.
We also reserve the right to stop providing the Service or disable access if needed (for example, if someone breaks the rules or misuses the app).
What are you liable for?
We do our best to keep Luma running smoothly, but:
We don’t guarantee that the app will work perfectly or meet every need.
We’re not liable for indirect losses, missed benefits or how you choose to use Luma.
We are liable only to the extent required by law - especially in cases of intentional harm or injury.
What about my data and privacy?
Your privacy is incredibly important to us. You can read all the details in our Privacy Policy.
Key things to know:
Your data is encrypted and stored securely.
We will never sell your personal data.
We may use anonymised, aggregated data to improve the app.
What if these terms change?
We may update these terms now and then. If we do:
We’ll update the “last updated” date at the top
We’ll notify you via the app or by email
If you keep using the app after the changes, we’ll assume you’re OK with them.
If you don’t agree to the updated terms, you can stop using Luma and delete your account.
Which laws apply?
This agreement is governed by English law, and any disputes will be handled by the English courts.
That’s it!
